Ever since I was a teenager I’ve been interested in health. I remember reading bits of Fit for Life back in the 80’s when my dad bought the book and we learned about fast and slow digesting foods. He’s still hard core about eating all of his salad and vegetables before he eats his meat/protein. 😅
On the back of many health challenges over the last ten years, and 17 years of client work as a coach and intuitive healer, I’ve become hugely passionate about what I call ‘Foundational Wellbeing’. To me that means being well and flourishing at a fundamental level – and not just physically but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Healing at a root-cause level, not just symptoms.
Being truly well.
Truly firing on all cylinders.
When we have this, we have the natural capacity be all that we can be. ✨
Our first wealth is our health
Being unwell for a long period of time (and for me that included chronic fatigue and early peri-menopause just to make it really fun) teaches you that health is your first wealth. And anyone who has experienced depression or other mental unwellness knows that mental or emotional health is also part of our ‘first wealth’. Without one of these, everything else tends to pale in comparison and become profoundly less important because you simply are not able to be in life fully. And you’re certainly not fully yourself.
Being unwell often comes with a lack of homeostasis in the body which is the fundamental balance and steadiness of all systems in the body. It also comes with contraction. We tend to contract when we’re ill, heartbroken, traumatised (even by a small car accident or had news at work) and in chronic stress. All of this contraction affects all parts of us and every cell in our body.
All of these things (and many others like medical procedures, shock, injuries etc) can also contribute to losing a strong connection to our source/God/divine self, and to becoming ungrounded. Having either of these connections to Source or to Earth disrupted means we’re simply not properly ‘plugged in’. When you plug an appliance into the wall, if the plug is not quite in the socket, the appliance won’t go.
Meanwhile, us beautiful humans, the dear, striving beings we are, keep going any way. We strive on, do lots of stuff, push through and meanwhile, we’re not operating with all of our energy sources available. It’s like being a Ferrari (which you are) driving around on the cheapest unleaded petrol available, when it really requires a high-octane premium fuel. You’re not getting what you need and what you’re built for. As Steven Covey famously said, we’re spiritual beings having a human experience. We’re meant to be totally plugged into our primary sources of energy (Spirit and the Earth) and receiving from both abundantly.
If this sounds a little far away from how you live day to day, let me assure you that being fully connected is something you can learn to do very easily. It’s not complicated or convoluted (although various spiritual teachers make it seem so) and it’s quick to learn to practice. I honestly can’t imagine my life without being connected fully each day, and when I find myself a bit off centre I can feel the difference and can then course-correct and get myself connected again. This is one of the core things I teach my clients how to do.
The step after that is being able to connect with your Higher Self and be guided day to day by your higher wisdom. This is next-level living.
Foundational Wellbeing
Where I’m going with all of this, is that it’s important we aim for the opposite of imbalance, contraction and disconnection and instead build balance, expansion and connection on all levels. To have foundational wellbeing – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually – requires cellular health, expansion and openness (from your cells to your chakras to your mind!), connection to source, Earth and each other, and flow – flow of energy, blood, wisdom and breath. As I’ve worked on each of these things my health has strengthened.
One of the most exciting things about this is that as you build more expansion or balance in one area, let’s say your nervous system or your cells, you start to experience it on other levels too.
Two of the ways I’m focusing on creating foundational well-being for myself and others right now are:
- Energetic Integrity
This means looking after your energy field well, balancing chakras and correcting the flow of energy moving through the energetic body, which is fundamental to our health and functioning on all levels and an incredibly exciting area to be able make changes in. Reach out if you’d like support in this area.
- Water
Yes, the water we drink. This is about drinking clean, pure water and in particular molecular hydrogen water. This is an incredibly exciting new area of health, not just for the physical body at a cellular level but also for the whole being. Molecular hydrogen goes straight to your cells and helps them open up and function optimally. If that’s happening with trillions of cells within your body, what could that then mean for your consciousness residing in that body?
I’ll be writing and blogging about both of these things in the coming weeks and months, meanwhile there is a fantastic online summit on all things water, hydrogen and health happening this week (running for three days and all talks will be available for lifetime access). If you feel remotely curious, be sure to join and hear some of the world‘s experts talking about these topics including NZ’s very own water maven, Veda Austin. Join the The Flow Summit.
If you’re resonating with what I’ve shared today about being more fully connected, you’re wanting guidance on your spiritual journey or you just have a feeling there’s something you need to know that you can’t quite put your finger on, explore these new ways of working with me here or feel free to book a free discovery call with me.
Here’s to the fundamental wellbeing and flourishing of every one of us. 🤩
