Would you like a fresh way to capture your vision for your life? Is just thinking about what you want feeling a bit stale, or do you find yourself writing down the same thing that you wrote five years ago and wonder why it’s still a goal, and not actually in your life yet?
Do you find yourself ‘settling’ in some areas of your life? Are you tolerating mediocrity in places because it’s easier, cheaper or seems to be all you should expect? It’s been said that you don’t always get exactly what you want, but you do get what you’re willing to tolerate. (This is why people start treating you differently the minute you decide certain behaviours are not acceptable to you anymore. Your toleration shifts and you’re no longer a match for the poor behaviour.)
So, what is more than tolerable for you?
I’ve not always found setting goals or visioning easy. There is a myriad of reasons why it can sometimes be hard or daunting to capture our life vision or goals. Sometimes even the word ‘goal’ can be off-putting. I like to create intentions and visions instead, and ultimately to make decisions about my life. I know from experiencing health challenges and having some areas of life ‘shelved’ for at times that it can also be disheartening to even let yourself write intentions down after having so many not come to fruition. Disappointment can breed apathy.
However, apathy has never created a great life, and I’m pretty sure you want a great one.
So, how can you zhuzh up your vision and feel re-inspired about what you want to create in your life? I think it’s a lot about letting ourselves dream again. Like, properly dream. No holds barred. Going for it.
Dream big!
Be outrageous and brave, and think unicorn-style imaginings about WHAT YOU REALLY WANT.
To do this I want to share with you a simple but profound set of questions to help you dream. I’ve laid them out below, plus, as I was writing this article I realised that some people would prefer to be guided through this process more fully, so I’ve also created a guided audio – Grounding Your Dreams. More on that below.
Meanwhile, if you’d like to dive straight into the questions, let’s set the scene first …
Create a Space for Dreaming
Choose a moment when you have quiet uninterrupted time for yourself. Grab some paper. I like to capture a vision like this on an A3 piece of paper so I have lots of space for all the areas I’m writing a vision for. Plain unlined paper is the best, in any case.
Take a moment to create a sacred space for you to do your visioning. Light a candle perhaps. Make a container of time and environment to hold you in this process. If you have limited time, use a timer (I love the www.insighttimer.com app for this as it has beautiful Tibetan bell sounds) so you can relax for the 20 minutes or so you have and not be clock-watching.
Our head can get in the way and mess with our aspirations and it becomes so habitual that we don’t even notice it happening. Let’s help you step out of your head and into your higher knowing.
Take a few minutes to mindfully breathe and centre, breathing for four counts in through the nose, holding for four, breathing out of the mouth for eight counts. Breathe into the belly, relaxing and expanding the diaphragm and enjoying these breaths. It can help to place a hand on your chest and a hand on your belly to help you anchor fully into your body.
Now let yourself explore …
Questions for Dreaming
What is your dream for your life? What is it you really want? What have you decided is right for you?
- Within this, your dreams might include things that are part of health, wealth, relationships, friends or family, work/career, business, purpose, lifestyle, community, personal or professional growth, mental or emotional health, or spirituality/faith.
- What are your true dreams, the ones you’d be embarrassed to admit to others, or have in some way given up on somewhere along the way?
- What would you go for if you were entirely unapologetic about what you want?
- Once you’ve captured everything that comes to mind, you’re then going to ask yourself … AND THEN WHAT? WHAT ELSE? And you might also do this on a different day or a few hours later. Allow some time to percolate and let what you’ve captured so far settle. Let your consciousness expand to MORE. Let yourself keep asking – what else?
See what wants to come forward and be known now from your own inner knowing, from that part of you that knows what you really desire.
Grounding your Dreams
Would you love to be guided through this process and to deepen it even further? Here is my guided audio – Grounding Your Dreams.
As well as being able to dream, manifesting is also about being able to bring those visions out of the ether (our thoughts and emotions) and into our physical reality, which is why we want to be able to ‘ground our dreams’; to land them on the runway! ‘Grounding Your Dreams’ is a carefully curated guided process to help you do this.
It begins with a centering practice to help you tune in powerfully. The more you can connect in to your higher guidance the more potent these questions are. Then I walk you through the above questions, and then four more steps to ground in your vision fully. Ensuring both your conscious and unconscious mind are on board with your biggest dreams makes all the difference, so I’ve designed this guided journey to allow for all of this.
The steps weave in profound but accessible principles of quantum physics and the power of your conscious intention, so you can use this audio download to capture your intentions and dreams in a powerful new way. And of course, you’ll be able to use it again and again.
Purchase here and go get your dreams started or more on track once and for all!
Even if you simply work through the above questions, I’d so love to hear how you found this process and what you learned about yourself and what your higher alignment is calling for.
To your best life,
Karen x
